About SWMS

Welcome to Southwest Middle School located in beautiful Albert Lea, Minnesota. Our school serves learners in sixth and seventh grades providing a well-rounded curriculum and many opportunities for achievement. Our grade levels are divided into educational teams to enhance students' academic experiences, and our staff utilizes the PLC Model and School-Wide Intervention Times to make sound educational decisions for all of our students. Southwest Middle School is the first Blue Zone Certified School in Minnesota and a winner of the MASSP Silver Star of Innovation Award (2015 & 2018).
